i tried everything EVEN tapping it with small hammer.. I bought a new X5150 off Ebay. Error Code??? Be patient, this took me a while to figure out. Please tell me and the rest of this blog how to properly replace the encoder strip.

Each wire strip can get unplugged from its bay in the main part of the printer which allows the scanner top to be fully removed from the printer. Many thank you's for your advise, very helpful.
