A colleague at work dropped her new camera and the lens stuck in the out position. You are the bomb! That is why I posted all these links.I understand why Canon is not admitting this problem and will not fix it. Lift up the lever on the connector to free the ribbon cable.

Hello camera repair, I was interested in buying an canon sd1000 or something like it, but after reading all of these problems I am reluctant. The logo is showing up dark as much of the battery power is likely going to the lens motor trying to overcome the sand.
